- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
- Fresh basil leaves
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Combine warm water and yeast in a bowl and let sit for 5 minutes.
- Add flour, salt, and olive oil, then knead until smooth.
- Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Roll the dough on a floured surface into a pizza shape.
- Spoon the tomato sauce on the base and spread it evenly.
- Top with mozzarella slices and season with salt and pepper.
- Bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, drizzle a little olive oil on top before serving.
