Description

A sweet and savory orange chicken dish cooked effortlessly in a crockpot, perfect for family gatherings or busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken thighs
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Green onions for garnish
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Mix together the orange juice, soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes in a bowl.
  2. Place the chicken thighs in your crockpot and pour the sauce over them.
  3. Cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until the chicken is tender.
  4. In the last 30 minutes, mix cornstarch with water to make a slurry and add it to the crockpot.
  5. Serve the chicken over rice and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days or freeze for 2-3 months.
