Description

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  3. Dip each chicken breast in olive oil, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Place the chicken into a baking dish.
  5. Bake for 25 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.
  6. Remove from the oven and spoon marinara sauce over each breast.
  7. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce.
  8. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Garnish with fresh basil if desired and serve hot.

Notes

For even cooking, pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness before baking. Let the dish rest for a few minutes before serving for easier slicing.
