- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Dip each chicken breast in olive oil, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
- Place the chicken into a baking dish.
- Bake for 25 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.
- Remove from the oven and spoon marinara sauce over each breast.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with fresh basil if desired and serve hot.
Notes
For even cooking, pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness before baking. Let the dish rest for a few minutes before serving for easier slicing.
