Description

Delicious layers of pasta, cheese, and rich meat sauce, baked to perfection.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions.
  3. In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat.
  4. Drain any excess fat and add marinara sauce.
  5. Mix ricotta, egg, oregano, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  6. Spread a layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a baking dish.
  7. Place 3 noodles over the sauce, then add half of the ricotta mixture, followed by a layer of mozzarella cheese.
  8. Repeat the layers, finishing with meat sauce and a final layer of mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  9. Bake for 45 minutes until the top is golden and bubbling.
  10. Let it cool for 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, substitute ground beef with spinach or mushrooms.
