- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup caramel sauce
- Optional: 1/2 teaspoon sea salt for topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
- Cream the butter in a large bowl with both sugars until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until fully incorporated.
- Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
- Press half the dough into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- Drizzle caramel sauce over the top.
- Drop spoonfuls of the remaining dough on top and spread gently.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.
Notes
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for a delicious dessert, and store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
