Description
Fluffy blueberry cinnamon rolls that are perfect for brunch, combining sweet blueberries and warm cinnamon for a delightful treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- Cream cheese frosting (for topping)
Instructions
- Start by mixing the flour, granulated sugar, yeast, and salt in a large bowl.
- Warm the milk and butter in a saucepan until melted. Combine this warm mixture with your dry ingredients along with the egg. Mix until it all comes together.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface until it’s smooth and elastic, about 5-7 minutes. Once done, place it in a greased bowl and cover it with a clean cloth. Let it rise for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
- Roll the dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter on top, then sprinkle cinnamon and brown sugar. Lastly, scatter fresh blueberries.
- Roll the dough tightly from one end to the other, forming a log. Cut into equal slices.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, arranging them close together. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly after baking, then top with cream cheese frosting before serving.
