A rich and creamy tomato sauce with tender pieces of chicken, perfect for family dinners.

- 1 pound (450g) boneless chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 2 teaspoons ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, minced
- 1 can (15 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the yogurt, lemon juice, cumin, coriander, turmeric, garam masala, and chili powder. Add the chicken pieces, cover, and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until soft.
- Stir in the garlic and ginger, cooking for another minute until fragrant.
- Add the marinated chicken to the skillet and cook until browned on all sides.
- Pour in the crushed tomatoes, lower the heat, and simmer for about 15 minutes.
- Stir in the heavy cream and cook for another 5 minutes. Add salt to taste.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
Notes
Marinating the chicken for longer will enhance the flavors. Adjust spice level as desired.
