Description

A delightful twist on a classic, combining the savory flavors of chicken parmesan into a gooey grilled cheese sandwich.


Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread
  • 1 cup cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  2. Layer one slice of bread in the skillet, butter-side down. Add half of the mozzarella cheese on top.
  3. Spread the shredded chicken evenly over the cheese, then add marinara sauce, and sprinkle with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  4. Top with the second slice of bread, butter-side up. Cook until the bread is golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Carefully flip the sandwich and cook until the other side is golden and the cheese is melted, another 3-4 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat, slice, and serve hot, garnished with fresh basil if desired.
