- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons cream cheese
- 2 tablespoons milk (for icing)
Instructions
- Grab a large mixing bowl and mix together the flour, granulated sugar, yeast, and salt.
- Take a saucepan, and gently heat the milk, water, and butter until warm.
- Combine the warm mixture with the dry ingredients in the mixing bowl.
- Add in the egg and knead it until the dough smooths out.
- Let that dough rise in a warm place for about an hour.
- Dust a clean surface with flour and roll out the dough into a rectangle shape.
- Sprinkle on the brown sugar and cinnamon evenly across the surface of the dough.
- Roll the dough up tightly from one long side to the other.
- Cut the rolled dough into bite-sized pieces—around an inch thick.
- Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake the bites in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 15-20 minutes.
- Mix the powdered sugar, cream cheese, and milk in a small bowl for the icing.
- Drizzle the icing over the warm Cinnamon Roll Bites just before serving.
Notes
For serving, these bites pair well with coffee or milk and can also be topped with extra cinnamon or maple syrup.
