Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sourdough discard
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup raisins or nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
- Whisk together the sourdough discard, milk, melted butter, and egg in another bowl.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until a soft dough forms.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
- Spread butter over the surface of the dough, then sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon evenly on top.
- Roll the dough tightly to form a log and slice into 1-inch pieces.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, giving them some room to rise.
- Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool slightly before serving and enjoy your gooey cinnamon rolls!
Notes
Drizzle with icing for added sweetness. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
