Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 cups apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup cinnamon sugar for topping
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Then, add the milk and stir until a dough forms.
  3. Roll out the dough and fit it into a pie dish.
  4. In another bowl, combine the apples, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar. Spread the apple mixture evenly over the dough.
  5. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar over the apples.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the crust is golden.
  7. Let it cool slightly before serving.
