Description

A delicious and comforting coffee cake, perfect for warm afternoons and weekend brunches.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon (for swirl)
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy.
  3. Add in the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until fluffy.
  4. Combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk.
  6. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  7. Mix together the brown sugar and additional cinnamon in a separate bowl.
  8. Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking pan, sprinkle with half of the brown sugar mixture, and add the remaining batter on top.
  9. Swirl with a knife to create a marbled effect.
  10. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  11. Cool before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with powdered sugar on top. Pairs perfectly with coffee or tea.
