- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon (for swirl)
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy.
- Add in the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until fluffy.
- Combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt in another bowl.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk.
- Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Mix together the brown sugar and additional cinnamon in a separate bowl.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking pan, sprinkle with half of the brown sugar mixture, and add the remaining batter on top.
- Swirl with a knife to create a marbled effect.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with powdered sugar on top. Pairs perfectly with coffee or tea.
