- 20 oz cheese tortellini
- 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye)
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Garlic powder
- Smoked paprika
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 tbsp butter
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1 1/4 cups parmesan, shredded or freshly grated
- Parsley, chopped (optional)
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
- Cracked black pepper (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the tortellini: In a large pot, cook the tortellini according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Season the steak: Season the steak with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
- Sear the steak: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until cooked to your liking. Remove from the skillet and let it rest.
- Make the sauce: In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add cream and milk: Pour in the heavy cream and whole milk. Stir to combine, allowing it to simmer gently for about 2-3 minutes.
- Add Parmesan: Gradually add Parmesan, stirring until the cheese melts and the sauce thickens.
- Combine everything: Slice the steak into bite-sized pieces. Add the cooked tortellini and steak back into the sauce. Toss to combine, ensuring everything is coated in the creamy goodness.
- Garnish and serve: Sprinkle with chopped parsley and red pepper flakes if using. Serve hot with cracked black pepper on top.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet over low heat, adding a splash of milk or cream if the sauce has thickened too much.
