Description

A comforting and creamy pasta dish made with lean ground beef, penne pasta, and rich Parmesan cheese, perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tsp olive oil for sautéing

Instructions

  1. Cook the penne according to package instructions until al dente. Once cooked, drain and reserve about 1 cup of the pasta water.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Sauté the diced onion and minced garlic until fragrant, which should take about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet. Break apart the meat as it cooks until it’s browned, around 7 minutes. Season it with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  4. Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream. Gradually add the reserved pasta water until you reach your desired sauce consistency.
  5. Mix in the grated Parmesan cheese until it melts and blends into the sauce.
  6. Combine the cooked pasta with the sauce in the skillet, tossing gently to ensure every piece gets coated with that luxurious sauce.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with additional Parmesan or fresh parsley if you’d like a pop of color and flavor.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days or freeze portions for up to 2-3 months.
