Description
A comforting and creamy pasta dish made with lean ground beef, penne pasta, and rich Parmesan cheese, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz penne pasta
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tsp olive oil for sautéing
Instructions
- Cook the penne according to package instructions until al dente. Once cooked, drain and reserve about 1 cup of the pasta water.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Sauté the diced onion and minced garlic until fragrant, which should take about 5 minutes.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet. Break apart the meat as it cooks until it’s browned, around 7 minutes. Season it with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream. Gradually add the reserved pasta water until you reach your desired sauce consistency.
- Mix in the grated Parmesan cheese until it melts and blends into the sauce.
- Combine the cooked pasta with the sauce in the skillet, tossing gently to ensure every piece gets coated with that luxurious sauce.
- Serve hot, garnished with additional Parmesan or fresh parsley if you’d like a pop of color and flavor.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days or freeze portions for up to 2-3 months.
