Description

Delight in crispy air fryer churro bites that are easy to make and perfect for sharing, combining a warm, doughy center with a sugary cinnamon coating.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Boil the Liquid: In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and 1/2 cup of unsalted butter over medium heat. Bring it to a boil, allowing the butter to melt completely.
  2. Add the Flour: Stir in 1 cup of all-purpose flour and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Keep stirring until the mixture forms a ball that pulls away from the sides of the pan.
  3. Incorporate the Eggs: Remove the saucepan from the heat. Let the mixture cool slightly, then mix in the 3 large eggs, one at a time, along with 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Keep stirring until you have a smooth batter.
  4. Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). This step is key for ensuring those bites come out perfectly crispy!
  5. Pipe the Churro Bites: Transfer the churro batter into a piping bag or a zip-top bag with one corner snipped off. Pipe small, bite-sized pieces onto a sheet of parchment paper.
  6. Spray and Fry: Lightly spray the churro pieces with cooking spray. Place them in the air fryer and cook for 8-10 minutes, or until they turn a beautiful golden brown.
  7. Cinnamon Sugar Coating: While the churro bites are cooking, mix 1/2 cup of sugar with 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon in a bowl.
  8. Roll and Serve: When they’re done, roll the churro bites in the cinnamon sugar mixture and serve them warm. Enjoy the taste of childhood in each bite!

Notes

For extra flavor, pair with chocolate or caramel dipping sauce. Store leftovers in an airtight container or freeze for longer freshness.
