Description
A delightful dish featuring chicken pieces fried to a crispy perfection, topped with a sweet and tangy orange sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs (beaten)
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
- 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
- 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 3 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1/2 tsp ginger powder
Instructions
- Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces.
- Mix the flour with a pinch of salt in one bowl and beat the eggs in another bowl.
- Dip each chicken piece into the egg mixture, letting excess drip off, then coat with the flour mixture.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the breaded chicken in batches until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per side. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
- In a saucepan, combine orange juice, soy sauce, sugar, minced garlic, and ginger powder. Simmer for about 5 minutes until thickened.
- Toss the fried chicken in the orange sauce until well-coated.
- Serve immediately over steamed rice or noodles.
Notes
For extra crispiness, consider a double-fry method or add crushed red pepper flakes for heat.
