Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs beef chuck roast
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 4 slices provolone cheese

Instructions

  1. Place the beef chuck roast in a slow cooker.
  2. Add the sliced onion, minced garlic, beef broth, water, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the beef is tender.
  4. Once cooked, shred the beef with two forks and stir it back into the juices.
  5. Serve the beef on hoagie rolls and top with provolone cheese, optionally dipping sandwiches in the au jus.

Notes

For extra texture, lightly toast the hoagie rolls before serving. Adjust seasonings to your preference, and feel free to experiment with different cheeses.
