Description
A quick and satisfying Italian dish made with spaghetti, garlic, and olive oil.
Ingredients
Scale
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown, about 2 minutes. Do not let it burn.
- Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for another 30 seconds.
- Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat the pasta in the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water until it reaches your desired consistency.
- Season with salt and mix well. Remove from heat.
- Serve the spaghetti hot, garnished with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
Notes
Use high-quality olive oil for the best flavor. Be careful not to let the garlic burn, as it can taste bitter.
