Ingredients

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb Italian sausage
  • 28 oz crushed tomatoes
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and sauté onions and garlic until softened.
  4. Add ground beef and sausage, cooking until browned. Drain excess fat.
  5. Stir in crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 20 minutes.
  6. Spread a layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  7. Layer 3 noodles, followed by half of the ricotta cheese and a third of the mozzarella cheese.
  8. Repeat layering with meat sauce, noodles, ricotta, and mozzarella. Finish with a final layer of noodles, meat sauce, and top with remaining mozzarella and parmesan.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  10. Let stand for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
