- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup chocolate chips (optional)
- ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan with butter or non-stick spray to ensure an easy release later.
- In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork or potato masher until they’re mostly smooth.
- Stir in the melted butter until the mixture combines. Then, add brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract, mixing until everything is well integrated.
- Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the banana mixture. Gently mix to incorporate.
- Next, add the all-purpose flour and fold it into the mixture until just combined.
- If you want to enhance your bread, fold in chocolate chips or nuts at this point.
- Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan and smooth out the top.
- Place it in the oven and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- After baking, cool the loaf in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
