- 1 box vanilla or yellow cake mix (15.25 oz)
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup sour cream
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- ½ cup milk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ cup light brown sugar
- 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- Mix the eggs, sour cream, vegetable oil, milk, and vanilla extract in a large mixing bowl.
- Add the box cake mix gradually to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Prepare the cinnamon filling by mixing the ground cinnamon, light brown sugar, and chopped nuts in a separate bowl.
- Layer half the cake batter into the prepared baking pan and sprinkle the cinnamon filling over it.
- Pour the remaining cake batter on top and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool the cake in the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
