Description

A creamy and cheesy zucchini gratin that combines simple ingredients and delicious flavors.


Ingredients

  • 4 medium Fresh zucchini
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil (Extra virgin recommended)
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • 1 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh herbs (thyme, parsley, or basil) (Chopped finely)
  • 1 clove Garlic (Minced or pressed)
  • 1.25 cups Heavy cream (Or half-and-half)
  • 0.25 cups Breadcrumbs (Optional for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Wash and slice the zucchini into thin slices, about 1/4 inch thick.
  3. Prepare the baking dish by drizzling olive oil to prevent sticking.
  4. Layer the zucchini slices in the dish, closely packed.
  5. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Mix the heavy cream, minced garlic, grated Parmesan, and fresh herbs in a bowl.
  7. Pour the cream mixture over the zucchini layers.
  8. Top with breadcrumbs if using.
  9. Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
  10. Cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For a crispy topping, use breadcrumbs; optionally, add red pepper flakes for heat.
