A rich and moist chocolate cake perfect for celebrations or indulging with family and friends.
Ingredients

- 200 g dark chocolate
- 100 g flour
- 200 g butter
- 140 g sugar
- 5 eggs
- 1 sachet baking powder (11 g)
- For the topping: 80 g dark or milk chocolate
- 40 g butter
- 2 to 3 handfuls of colorful sugar decorations
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Melt the dark chocolate with the butter in a bain-marie or in the microwave until smooth.
- Whisk the eggs with the sugar until the mixture becomes fluffy.
- Gently fold in the sifted flour and baking powder.
- Add the melted chocolate-butter mixture and mix until smooth.
- Pour into a greased or lined cake pan and bake for 30 to 45 minutes.
- Allow to cool on a wire rack before removing from the pan.
- Prepare the topping by melting the chocolate and butter in a bain-marie.
- Spread it over the cooled cake and decorate as desired.
- Chill in the fridge for 30 minutes before serving.
Notes
For added indulgence, serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
