Description

Soft, pillowy Garlic Bread Rolls brushed with aromatic herb butter. These golden-brown rolls are perfect for any meal and ready in under 2 hours with simple pantry ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale

3½ cups all-purpose flour

2¼ teaspoons instant yeast (1 packet)

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

1½ teaspoons salt

1 cup warm milk (110°F)

¼ cup warm water

3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg, room temperature

½ cup unsalted butter, melted (for garlic butter)

45 large garlic cloves, minced

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped

½ teaspoon salt (for garlic butter)

¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

1. Combine warm milk, water, sugar, and yeast in a large bowl. Let sit 5 minutes until foamy.

2. Add melted butter and egg to yeast mixture, whisking until smooth.

3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and salt.

4. Pour wet ingredients into flour mixture and stir until shaggy dough forms.

5. Turn dough onto floured surface and knead 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

6. Place dough in greased bowl, cover, and let rise 60-75 minutes until doubled.

7. Punch down dough and divide into 12-16 equal pieces.

8. Shape each piece into a ball and place in greased 9×13-inch pan, 2 inches apart.

9. Cover and let rise 30-40 minutes until puffy.

10. Preheat oven to 375°F.

11. Bake 18-22 minutes until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 190°F.

12. Mix melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.

13. Brush garlic butter generously over hot rolls immediately after removing from oven.

14. Let rest 5 minutes before serving warm.

Notes

Temperature matters: Liquids at 110°F work best for yeast activation.

Don’t skip the resting time after baking—it allows the garlic butter to absorb.

Freeze unbaked shaped rolls for up to 3 months; bake from frozen adding 5-10 minutes.

For softer rolls, cover with foil during the last 5 minutes of baking.

Active dry yeast works too—just dissolve it in warm liquid for 10 minutes first.
