Description

Delightful sticky buns with soft dough, rich caramel, and a hint of cinnamon, perfect for breakfast or brunch.


Ingredients

  • 1 package of active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup pecans (optional)
  • 1 cup caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the yeast in warm water. Let it stand for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. Heat the milk, sugar, butter, and salt in a saucepan until warm and the butter melts—don’t boil it!
  3. Combine the milk mixture, egg, and yeast in a large bowl and stir well.
  4. Add in the flour and cinnamon, mixing until you create a dough. Knead it for about 5 minutes until it’s smooth.
  5. Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  6. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon, and nuts if using.
  8. Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut it into slices.
  9. Pour the caramel sauce into a baking dish and sprinkle pecans on top. Arrange the sliced rolls on this sweet base.
  10. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown and fragrant.
  11. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm for the best experience, optionally dusted with powdered sugar or paired with coffee or fruit.
