  • 1 tbsp green food coloring
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 23 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
  2. Combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  3. Whisk together the vegetable oil, buttermilk, eggs, vanilla extract, green food coloring, and vinegar in another bowl.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fill each cupcake liner about 2/3 full with the batter.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes. Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center; it should come out clean.
  7. Allow the cupcakes to cool completely before adding any frosting.
  8. Beat the softened butter in a bowl until it’s creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar and milk until you reach your desired consistency.
