Description

A quick and delicious meal featuring savory ground beef, sweet onions and bell peppers, and gooey provolone cheese packed into toasted hoagie rolls.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 4 slices of provolone cheese
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers to the skillet and cook until softened (5-7 minutes).
  3. Add the ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned (8-10 minutes).
  4. Reduce heat to low, layer provolone cheese on top of the beef and vegetable mixture, cover to melt cheese for a couple of minutes.
  5. Toast the hoagie rolls either in a toaster or on a skillet over low heat.
  6. Assemble by scooping the beef and cheese mixture onto the toasted hoagie rolls and serve immediately.

Notes

For added flavor, consider experimenting with different types of cheese or adding extra veggies like mushrooms or jalapeños.
