Description
A hearty and comforting classic lasagna made with layers of pasta, rich meat sauce, and gooey cheese.
Ingredients

- 12 lasagna noodles
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 3 cups marinara sauce
- 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain.
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it apart until fully cooked; drain excess fat.
- Add the marinara sauce to the beef; simmer for 10 minutes.
- Mix ricotta cheese, egg, basil, salt, and pepper in a separate bowl.
- Spread a layer of the meat sauce in a baking dish, then layer 4 noodles on top.
- Spoon half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles, then add a third of the mozzarella.
- Repeat the layers two more times, finishing with noodles topped with meat sauce and remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let it cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, add Italian seasoning to the meat sauce.
