- 1 lb ground turkey (lean)
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 5 oz fresh spinach, chopped or whole
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, freshly shredded
- 1 egg
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- Black pepper, to taste
- Optional: ½ cup diced red bell peppers
- Optional: ¼ cup plain Greek yogurt
- Optional: mozzarella instead of cheddar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F and grease a 9×9 baking dish to prevent sticking.
- Cook the ground turkey in a skillet over medium heat for about 6–8 minutes, breaking it up for even browning.
- Stir in the garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Then, add the fresh spinach and cook until wilted, about 2–3 minutes.
- Reduce the heat to low and mix in the softened cream cheese until fully melted and combined.
- Let the mixture cool for 5 minutes, then stir in the beaten egg and half of the cheddar cheese.
- Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish and smooth it out evenly. Top with the remaining cheddar cheese.
- Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.
- Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Serve with a green salad or roasted veggies. Customize with different cheeses or add spices for extra flavor.
