Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 45 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup beef broth or water
  • 1/4 cup milk (optional, for creaminess)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and cook the ground beef for 5-7 minutes until browned.
  3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the onion is translucent.
  4. Spread the beef mixture evenly in the baking dish, then layer the sliced potatoes on top. Season with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
  5. Sprinkle the cheddar and Parmesan cheese over the top, and pour beef broth or water around the edges. Drizzle with milk if desired.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly.
