- 1 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs, cut into 2” pieces
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp flour (gluten-free optional)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 3 garlic cloves, sliced thinly
- 1 tbsp avocado oil
- 1/4 cup honey
- 4 tbsp cold unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari)
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- Finely chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Prep the chicken by cutting the thighs into bite-sized pieces and tossing them in a mixture of cornstarch, flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Cook the chicken in a large skillet with avocado oil over medium heat for about 8 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
- Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Make the honey butter sauce by lowering the heat and adding cold butter, honey, soy sauce, and rice vinegar, then tossing the chicken back in until coated.
- Serve the dish garnished with parsley, either on a platter or directly from the skillet.
Notes
Pairs well with steamed rice, mashed potatoes, or roasted vegetables. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days.
