- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup Irish cream liqueur
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped toasted pecans or walnuts, optional
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium mixing bowl.
- Beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a larger bowl until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs, Irish cream liqueur, and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and combine completely.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined; do not overmix.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts if using.
- Drop rounded tablespoon portions of dough onto the lined baking sheets, leaving space between each.
- Bake for 11 to 13 minutes until edges are golden brown and centers are set.
- Cool cookies on baking sheets for 3 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
