Description

A delicious Italian twist on traditional meatloaf, featuring ground beef, ground pork, marinara sauce, and mozzarella cheese.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the ground beef, ground pork, bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic, parsley, basil, egg, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into a loaf shape and place it in a greased baking dish.
  4. Spread marinara sauce over the top.
  5. Bake for 45-60 minutes or until the meatloaf is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C).
  6. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top in the last 10 minutes of baking and return to the oven until melted.
  7. Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Use fresh herbs for better flavor and mix gently to avoid toughness.
