Description

Delicious and fluffy jumbo cinnamon rolls drizzled with cream cheese icing, perfect for breakfast or snacks.


Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cup whole milk (warmed to 110°F)
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) instant dry yeast
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 5 ¼5 ¾ cups bread flour (or all-purpose)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 10 tablespoons unsalted butter, semi-melted
  • 1 ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 12 tablespoons milk or heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Add warm milk, yeast, sugar, 5 ¼ cups flour, salt, eggs, and softened butter into the bowl of a stand mixer. Knead the dough for 5 minutes at medium-low speed.
  2. Transfer the kneaded dough to a greased bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and let it rise for about 45 minutes.
  3. Prepare the filling by beating together semi-melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until well combined.
  4. Punch down the risen dough gently, then roll it out into a 14×20 inch rectangle. Spread the cinnamon filling evenly.
  5. Roll the dough up from the short end into a log and cut into 8 pieces. Place in a greased pan.
  6. Let the rolls rise while preheating the oven to 350°F. Pour heavy cream over the tops before baking.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  8. While the rolls bake, beat together cream cheese and softened butter for the icing. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract.
  9. Spread the icing over warm rolls and serve.

Notes

Knead the dough well for the best texture, and be patient with rising times.
