  • 1 lb. Boneless Chicken Breast (sliced, pounded)
  • ½ Cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 Cup Buttermilk
  • 3 Tablespoons Oil (for frying)
  • 2 Teaspoons Seasoned Salt
  • 1½ Teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 Teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • ¼ Teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • ¼ Teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 Cup Water

Instructions

  1. Flatten the Chicken: Start by placing your boneless chicken breast between two sheets of plastic wrap. Use a rolling pin to gently pound it out to about ½-inch thickness.
  2. Prepare the Buttermilk Mixture: In a bowl, mix the buttermilk with a splash of water.
  3. Create the Dry Coating: In another bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, seasoned salt, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  4. Coat the Chicken: Roll the flattened chicken pieces in the dry mixture, then dip into the buttermilk mix, and back into the flour.
  5. Prepare for Frying: Line a wire rack with paper towels. Place the coated chicken on the rack.
  6. Fry the Chicken: Heat the oil in your frying pan over medium-high heat and fry until golden brown, about 6-7 minutes on each side.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Remove the chicken from the pan, and garnish with fresh cilantro.
