Description
Overnight Crème Brûlée French Toast – a custardy, caramelized breakfast you prep ahead for stress-free mornings.
Ingredients
1 loaf brioche or challah bread, sliced
5 large eggs
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp cinnamon
2 tbsp butter
Instructions
1. Slice bread into thick slices and place in a baking dish.
2. Whisk together eggs, cream, brown sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon.
3. Pour custard mixture over bread slices.
4. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
6. Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes until golden and set.
7. Sprinkle sugar on top and torch or broil to caramelize.
8. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Use day-old bread for best texture.
Top with berries or maple syrup for added flavor.
