Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup crushed tomatoes
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella, sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, yeast, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Add warm water and olive oil, and mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes.
  4. Let the dough rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
  6. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to desired thickness.
  7. Spread crushed tomatoes over the crust, leaving a border.
  8. Top with mozzarella slices, salt, and pepper.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the crust is golden.
  10. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

For a crispy crust, bake the pizza on a preheated pizza stone.
