Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a cupcake or muffin tin with paper liners.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, beat together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract and buttermilk.
- Gradually combine the dry mixture with the wet mixture, being careful not to overmix.
- Add red food coloring to the batter to reach your desired pink hue.
- Fill each cupcake liner about two-thirds full with the batter.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool in the tin for 5-10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Frost each cupcake with cream cheese frosting and top with sprinkles.
Notes
Ensure butter and eggs are at room temperature for better mixing. Do not overmix the batter to keep the cupcakes light.
