Description

Delicious homemade cinnamon rolls that are quick and easy to make, perfect for brunch or a special treat.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) instant yeast
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup butter (softened, for filling)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tbsp milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Mix the flour, granulated sugar, instant yeast, and salt in a large bowl.
  2. Heat the milk and butter together in a saucepan until warm, then pour into the dry ingredients.
  3. Add the egg and mix until a thick dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick, then spread softened butter over it.
  6. Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon mixture across the dough.
  7. Roll the dough into a log and slice into individual rolls.
  8. Let the rolls rise for 20-30 minutes while preheating the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  9. Bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Mix powdered sugar and milk for glaze, then drizzle over warm rolls.
