- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) instant yeast
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup butter (softened, for filling)
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2 tbsp milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- Mix the flour, granulated sugar, instant yeast, and salt in a large bowl.
- Heat the milk and butter together in a saucepan until warm, then pour into the dry ingredients.
- Add the egg and mix until a thick dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes and let it rest for 10 minutes.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick, then spread softened butter over it.
- Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon mixture across the dough.
- Roll the dough into a log and slice into individual rolls.
- Let the rolls rise for 20-30 minutes while preheating the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
- Mix powdered sugar and milk for glaze, then drizzle over warm rolls.
Notes
Check your yeast for freshness and don’t skip the resting period for the dough.
