Delicious and visually stunning red velvet cinnamon rolls, perfect for Valentine’s Day.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 tablespoon red food coloring
- 1 cup cream cheese (for frosting)
- 2 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
- 1 tablespoon milk (for frosting)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl. Whisk until well mixed.
- Mix together the buttermilk, egg, melted butter, vanilla, and red food coloring in another bowl.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms.
- Roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick on a floured countertop.
- Spread melted butter over the dough and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll the dough tightly from one end to the other and slice into rolls.
- Place them in a greased baking dish, cut side up.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until puffed and cooked through.
- Prepare the cream cheese frosting by beating cream cheese, powdered sugar, and milk until smooth.
- Spread frosting over warm rolls once they are out of the oven.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
For an extra treat, serve with fresh strawberries or vanilla ice cream.
