Description

A comforting and delicious lasagna made easily in a slow cooker, perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • Lasagna noodles
  • Ricotta cheese
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Marinara sauce
  • Ground beef (or sausage)
  • Italian seasoning
  • Garlic
  • Onion
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions

  1. Start by browning the ground beef or sausage in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and minced garlic, cooking until the meat is no longer pink and the onions are soft. This step adds a lot of flavor, so don’t skip it! Once done, drain any excess fat and set it aside.
  2. Prepare your slow cooker by layering with a generous scoop of marinara sauce at the bottom. Next, break the lasagna noodles into pieces—no need to cook them beforehand (they’ll get soft while cooking in the sauce).
  3. In the slow cooker, create your first layer: Add a mix of broken lasagna noodles on top of the marinara sauce, followed by a layer of ricotta cheese, a sprinkle of mozzarella, and the browned meat mixture.
  4. Repeat these layers until you’ve used all the ingredients. Remember to finish with a layer of mozzarella cheese on top; this will create that beautiful, cheesy crust.
  5. Now that you have your layers all set, sprinkle some Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper over the top to pack in even more flavor.
  6. Cover the slow cooker and let it cook on low for about 240 to 360 minutes. Keep an eye on it; the lasagna is done when the noodles are tender and the cheese is melty and bubbly.
  7. Once cooked, let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve with a fresh green salad and warm garlic bread. Can store leftovers in the fridge for 3-4 days or freeze for 2-3 months.
