Description

A hearty and comforting classic lasagna recipe layered with rich tomato sauce, creamy cheese, and savory ground beef.


Ingredients

  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  4. Add the marinara sauce to the meat and stir to combine; simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Mix the ricotta cheese with the egg, parsley, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  6. Spread a layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a baking dish.
  7. Layer with 3 lasagna noodles, half of the ricotta mixture, one-third of the mozzarella, and another layer of meat sauce.
  8. Repeat the layers, ending with meat sauce and topping with the remaining mozzarella and parmesan.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  10. Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, substitute the ground beef with sautéed vegetables such as zucchini and mushrooms.
