- 9 lasagna noodles
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
- Add the marinara sauce to the meat and stir to combine; simmer for 5 minutes.
- Mix the ricotta cheese with the egg, parsley, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Spread a layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a baking dish.
- Layer with 3 lasagna noodles, half of the ricotta mixture, one-third of the mozzarella, and another layer of meat sauce.
- Repeat the layers, ending with meat sauce and topping with the remaining mozzarella and parmesan.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For a vegetarian version, substitute the ground beef with sautéed vegetables such as zucchini and mushrooms.
