Description
A comforting and delicious dish of shrimp cooked in a rich garlic cream sauce served over fluffy mashed potatoes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter (for mashed potatoes)
- Chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Start by boiling the cubed potatoes in salted water until they become tender, about 15-20 minutes. Once soft, drain the water and mash them with the milk and 2 tablespoons of butter. Season with salt and pepper.
- While the potatoes cook, melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Toss in the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the shrimp to your skillet. Cook until they turn pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Once the shrimp are ready, pour in the heavy cream and stir gently. Let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens. Season with salt and pepper.
- To serve, place a generous scoop of mashed potatoes on each plate, top with the creamy garlic shrimp, and sprinkle with chopped parsley.
Notes
For a twist, try substituting shrimp with chicken or adding spices and fresh herbs for different flavor profiles. Serve with a fresh salad for balance.
