Description

A comforting and delicious dish of shrimp cooked in a rich garlic cream sauce served over fluffy mashed potatoes.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter (for mashed potatoes)
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Start by boiling the cubed potatoes in salted water until they become tender, about 15-20 minutes. Once soft, drain the water and mash them with the milk and 2 tablespoons of butter. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. While the potatoes cook, melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Toss in the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the shrimp to your skillet. Cook until they turn pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  4. Once the shrimp are ready, pour in the heavy cream and stir gently. Let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. To serve, place a generous scoop of mashed potatoes on each plate, top with the creamy garlic shrimp, and sprinkle with chopped parsley.

Notes

For a twist, try substituting shrimp with chicken or adding spices and fresh herbs for different flavor profiles. Serve with a fresh salad for balance.
