Description

A comforting and nostalgic chicken noodle casserole that is easy to make and perfect for family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz Egg Noodles
  • 2 cups Cooked Chicken, Shredded
  • 10.5 oz Cream of Chicken Soup
  • 1 cup Sour Cream
  • 0.5 cup Milk
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 cup Frozen Peas
  • 1 cup Diced Carrots
  • 0.5 cup Finely Chopped Onion
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 cup Crushed Butter Crackers or Breadcrumbs
  • 0.25 cup Melted Butter
  • 0.25 cup Chopped Parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  3. Combine the shredded chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, and milk in a large mixing bowl.
  4. Add the cooked noodles, peas, diced carrots, chopped onion, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper; stir until everything is well mixed.
  5. Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  6. Top with shredded cheddar cheese, crushed butter crackers, and drizzle melted butter on top.
  7. Bake covered for 20 minutes, then uncover and bake another 10-15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

For a healthier version, substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream and use whole wheat noodles. You can also add extra veggies like spinach for added nutrition.
