Description
This kafta recipe offers warm spices wrapped around perfectly grilled meat, bringing flavor and nostalgia to your dining table.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef or lamb
- 1 small onion, finely grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for grilling
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground meat with the grated onion, minced garlic, chopped parsley, cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix everything until it’s well combined, ensuring the spices spread evenly.
- With wet hands, shape the mixture into oval patties or long logs, depending on your preference.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat or drizzle some olive oil in a grill pan over medium heat.
- Place the kafta on the grill and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side. You want them to get that beautiful char and reach an internal temperature of 160°F.
- Let the kafta rest for a few minutes before serving.
- Serve your kafta ideally with warm flatbreads, fresh veggies, tahini sauce or yogurt, and lemon wedges. Enjoy!
Notes
Pair kafta with fresh veggies and sauces for a delightful meal. Remember to wet your hands when shaping to prevent sticking.
